The environment, styling methods, chemical services and just plain wear and tear all contribute to hair damage, but hair damage can be prevented. Scalp manipulation or massage is recommended and should be part of regular treatments.
It relaxes the client and loosens the scalp. This is what makes the blood come to the surface. So on your next visit to the salon, whether you are having a steam to maintain your healthy hair, or deep treatment for chemically abused hair, be sure your hair stylist gives you a scalp massage. It may cost you a little more but the benefits will outweigh the cost. Let them do the rotating hairline all around the skull, with the palms of their hands, then deep manipulation, applying pressure all over the scalp.
